So, there are new developments on the "job front."
The first one deals with rejection.
I was rejected from a job that I didn't even apply for. Yes, I have a feeling it has to do with the way I handled the interview. And no, I didn't want the stupid job. But, God Damn it, rejection hurts!
In a polite email I was told "Your skill set is not applicable for this position."
Keep in mind that this was for what amounted to a computer programming position and nowhere on my resume does it say "Computer Programming Experience."
Are they idiots? I could have told them that! What, did they see "Journalist" or "World Traveler" or "Passed Math 11" on my resume and think, "Hmmm. She would be perfect for computer programming!"?
Sigh.
Then I find out that we (us temps) are no longer eligible for overtime. This both sucks and blows. First of all, I get paid a lousy wage, so OT was the only perk to the job (aside from the 8 hour breaks). It was the only way I would be able to pay my mortgage AND have a life. Now, with no opportunity for more money, I'm barely able to make ends meet and I have no life. I went to buy my lunch yesterday ($5) and my debit card was declined. And I have a $500 overdraft!
Now comes the regret...Why, oh why, did I buy a pricey pair of new boots? Why, oh why, did I go to Ikea? Why, oh why, did I lose my last cheque? Why, oh, why did I buy that dress? (Cuz it was cute, Damn it, and on sale. That's why!)
I think I'm going to have to auction myself off on Ebay again.
