Even though I passed on the pill box hat (in favor of a cameo brooch), I felt very Jackie Kennedy in this skirt suit. The boucle texture and boxy, collarless jacket is incredibly ladylike, form fitting, and timeless while still serving a professional function. After all, Mrs. Kennedy herself did say, "There are two kinds of women: those who want power in the world, and those who want power in bed." I feel like in this skirt suit, you can be both!
After receiving this dress as a Christmas present, I have worn it three times. Once with a flannel underneath and knee high boots (for Christmas Day), once with a crewneck sweater over it and leopard flats (for a 1st birthday party), and like this (for the work day). It's comfortable, versatile, and flattering - a triple threat. I can't wait to see how it with more layers as the temperatures drop.
Booties are my favorite type of shoe. I've got lace-up suede ones, leather high heel ones, and flat western style ones, so it was only a matter of time before an oxford calf hair variety made it's way into my closet. Despite the fact that I despise anything that sheds, I cannot get enough of anything faux fur. I'd imagine that this is how my mother felt upon welcoming home a yellow lab after years of Maltese pups. You love 'em so much that you don't mind cleaning up the hair. Therefore, I'll just put a lint roller in my purse and call it a day.

I saw this stunning woman by 5th Avenue and asked if I could take her photo. The last couple days have been very windy in New York, but that doesn't stop the advanced style set from dressing up. I asked the lady above if she had any style tips to share and her advice was, "Stick to the classics. You can pair amusing accessories with classic clothing."
As one of those individuals who has self diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a phrase I am not likely to be heard uttering is “hurry up winter!” However I am finding myself gazing at trees with the notion of embracing my inner eight year old and climbing them to howl it from the treetops. The reason being?
Winters chilly arrival heralds the departure (less morbid word than death don’t you think) of most flowers. Fashion gods willing this will also include the departure of floral print.
Whilst I am guilty of possessing floral print clothing (a cute light blazer bought for a recent trip to Dubai), I can’t help but begin to detest it.
Personally I assume the trend was not intended for head to toe including matching shoes and bag to resemble what would happen if Amsterdam’s famous flower market exploded over plain clothing and created one single look. The floral is becoming a high street eyesore which is compelling me to ditch the summer look and pull out my vintage fur cape ready for the autumn.
In addition to floral prints being overdone on the high street, they have also been overdone at the summer music festivals where the flowers have been trampled on as the bleary eyed festival goers stampede from the venue in a partied out haze.
Please save us all from this eye sore and do this with your floral prints.
