CLOSED: Win £80 to spend at Asos to celebrate Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day everyone! I hope everyone got the chance to hug a tree, or frolic through a field of wild flowers. I opted for a classic; singing in the hills, because as we all know, they are full of music! Clichés aside, Earth Day is a good opportunity to reflect on our ways as consumers and judge our environmental impact on the world. Business speak aside it means I vow, yet again, to never buy anything from the high street again and to travel only by bicycle. However such goals can be impractical and simply improbable.

Instead I thought I'd give you the opportunity to indulge, guilt-free, in some of my favourite ethical and eco-friendly picks from Asos! Asos? Surely not, they are not a brand known for their ethical ways. Think again kind reader, for indeed it may be small and hard to find but Asos devote a small directory to ethical products for sale on their website, it's called the Green Room. There you will find many splendours, and because I love you all so much I'm offering an £80 gift voucher to one lucky person to spend at Asos (true, you could spend it on anything, not just the Green Room but it is Earth Day after all). This wouldn't be possible on my own, I am but a student, this is all thanks to Appliances Online who kindly offered me this voucher to give away. (They also have a blog that features no Appliances, rather adorable home décor inspiration and a bunch of cute DIY's, but don't go there, it's my secret source... shhh!)

How to enter:
Just leave a comment below, letting me know if you've done anything for Earth Day! (Also make sure I can contact you somehow.)
That's it! (Really, really). Anyone can enter but the voucher is in pounds and will need to be spent on the UK Asos website (they ship overseas, don't worry). No need to follow or tweet about it, just leave a comment. Or course, if you really wanted to you could follow me and tell your friends, but that's up to you :)
Giveaway ends on the 6th of May at Midday London time.
Good Luck!

And the winner is...
Congratulations Kailey, I will email you shortly :)
Thank you to everyone who entered!

Just because I'm an angel, I've made a selection of my favourite Green Room items ranging from the cheapest to items pushing the £80 budget. A taster for what you could win.

Greensleeves was my heart of gold

Not much time to write, (currently trying to cram as hard as possible for my upcoming exams) so here are a few photos from before Christmas, snapped in my garden at home. Coming home, my suitcase was so full of presents that I could only bring the clothes I was wearing, a dress for Christmas (as seen in my Christmas post), and enough underwear and socks for the stay. That meant that after a couple of days in I was pretty bored of wearing the same outfit, again, so I went to the local charity shop and picked up a few pieces so I could mix it up a bit. Things I found that day, featured in this post are the skirt, shoes, and cape. A couple of bits hanging around the house, the blouse I brought with me, and the outfit was complete.

Hope you all had a great New Year, I'll see you again soon (on the other side of this exam madness).

Chrysanthemums in the kitchen

Getting up on Saturday I saw that the chrysanthemums in the kitchen was dying so I decided to pick out the best ones and arrange them in a copper Turkish coffee pot found at Oxfam. Along with out fresh tablecloth and my little blackboard, it all looked too photogenic to not take a couple of snap. After spending the morning sewing this skirt, the outfit I eventually chose reflected the colours of the flowers. I just had chrysanthemums on the mind.

The photos were taken shortly after sunset down a small street in Kensington. There was a lovely house that looked just the right bit derelict. The short hours of daylight are getting me down but there's my birthday and Christmas to look forward to, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel (hur hur).

You may notice that I'm wearing a rather fetching scarf (if I may say so myself), which was sent to me by Front Row Society. I was excited to discover them because a) who doesn't love a silk scarf and b) they allow anyone to submit designs and them everyone gets to vote for the winner. I rather like this democratic fashion model. A more elaborate feature on them to come, just because I've got more photos and I feel they deserve their own post.

Blending in with autumn trees

I've been rather lazy with taking photos for the blog. These are from last Sunday, the weather was lovely so I went out for a walk to, surprise surprise, Holland Park. These photos only happened because I loved the tree arch so much that I had to pose under it. It would make a fantastic entrance to a secret garden or maybe an abandoned mansion (it is Halloween season after all). Had to crop a bunch of the photos because apparently my face wasn't cooperating so I ended up looking like an alpaca mid-chew.

It must be the transition with autumn combined with the start of term that's making me dress like a school girl. I even wore a little tie! You can't see my hair from behind but I had a big brown bow clipping it back (bows, bows, bows, bows, I love you so!) Also, I love tweed. So that would obviously mean I love this jacket I got from vivilli, I spotted it on their website and loved the leathery accents on the elbow and collar and football buttons (some of my favourite buttons). Maybe I should do a little round-up of school-y things I've been coveting lately, there's nothing better than new stationary after all. And posts, posts are also good.
