LFW in pictures

London fashion week is finally over and I’m looking forward to all the underrated sleep, god I’m old. Anyway there’s a lot coming up, so let’s call this overwhelming picture explosion an introduction. When I was not photographing other stylish people or ungracefully running between shows, I spent the week mostly in Tibi boots, my trusted and most loved black basics and of course in the Comptoir Des Cotonniers reversible jacket for who I acted as their official LFW ambassador! It rained more than normal, I swear (see grumpy rain faces and my fancy James Smith & Sons umbrella) but I still managed to tick off almost everything on the hectic schedule. Now it’s a much needed week off until I take on Paris!

Other noteworthy accessories include a perfect, white Vanessa Bruno bag, H&M overknee boots, trusted Ray-Bans and a bag you know way to well now, my Chanel boy.

Fashion week shortcomings

ZARA shirt
BIK BOK jeans

What I wore to see my good friend Charlie May’s LFW show, oh wait that a lie because I missed the show due to a triathlon that is taking over London! Worst timing ever, for any sport that is... Looking on the bright side, I got to take my newest and coolest jacket out for a spin, Charlie May’s cropped leather blazer that moved into my wardrobe just before fashion week. Without a doubt the sharpest piece in my wardrobe right now, I think we need to take a second look at it when fashion week madness has settled, and same goes for these gorgeous boots!

A C C E S S O R I E S / Helmut Lang Asymmetric Bra

It is so great to see items transcend seasons and come back in stores years after being on the runway. Unlike product design, where the same chair for example stays available in stores for more than 50 years, fashion designs are typically only in stores for a couple of months. Isn't that strange? It was a nice surprise to see this asymmetric bra being restocked after it was completely sold out during spring/summer 2012. It proves that good design is non-perishable. This baby is super comfortable, practical and though it remains perfectly hidden underneath my cropped polo necks with cutaway shoulders, I don't mind these straps showing when wearing a loose tee. They can also be worn on one side of the neck making it look like a single strapped bra. Now let's keep our fingers crossed that the white version will have a comeback too.

Watch Whistles live with me

For a rainy Friday at LFW, I wore gorgeous new season Whistles! You might have noticed that I was quite fond of the summer collection, but the fall version is something even better. Among the range of gorgeous alpaca coats and stripped back parkas, they take on two iconic prints, both checks and army with their signature wearable spin.

Today at 2.45 PM. I am heading to see the much anticipated Whistles LFW show, that they will be live-streaming on their site! See you there?

Or stop by their St Christopher’s Place, Northcote Road in Clapham, Bath or Leeds store for a Champagne treat and goody bag while you watch the show!

London proof

So London Fashion week is finally here and in full swing! However before we dive into the new shows, new season and yes, there will be a spam-like feed of what I wore too, I had to face the fact that the weather forecast had promised rain for more or less the whole week. So with the murky weather in mind and the fact that I can’t stop convincing myself that a good jacket completes every outfit (my shoe collection is very jealous) I was happy to take on a whole type of a new project with French brand Comptoir Des Cotonniers. So for the week, I will be taking over their Tumblr dedicated to all the versions of ‘Mademoiselle Plume’ (that’s the jacket’s fancy name) As I act as their new ambassador!

More tomorrow, come and say hi if your around!

A boy for the night

A few weeks ago River Island organised a nice little intimate dinner to launch their fall collection with a China Town theme. I quickly put together a get-up and wore almost head to toe River Island in this embroidery suit, but it wasn't until I left the house that I understood how fun it was to be a dressed like a dude! So I was guilty of some outfit repeating that week and have been playing with variations of this ever since. I think the brogues played a key role (and hush, there is a heel on them.) So all and all nothing that I did not know already - the shoes really make a man.
