Suri went after "every color in the rainbow," says a source at Make Meaning, which offers up to 50 activities, including jewelry making. She even tried her hand at decorating mugs, ceramic unicorns and a dog bowl." reported by people

Crazy shoes

So I did something the other day that I never, ever do: I impulsively bought a pair of $150 shoes. (I'm not saying this to brag, by the way! There's a point to this.) These shoes:

Oh, and they look like this from the side:

That's right, they're crazy shoes. And I promise you, they are ten times weirder and more striking in person.

The reason I bought them was a bit ridiculous. I'm going to be in my friend Rachel's wedding in a month, and all the bridesmaids are supposed to pick out their own spring-colored shoes. So I ordered a lovely pair of seafoam green Jeffrey Campbell wedges, but when they arrived they were too small, and when I went to re-order they were all sold out. Then I spent hours online trying to find a different pair of green shoes (since the other bridesmaids had already claimed the easier-to-find colors, like blue and pink), but I couldn't find any that I liked in my size.

Needing a break, I hopped over to the Solestruck website, and found the pair pictured above. It was instant love once I saw the side view, and I was sleepy, and feeling sick, and so tired of searching for wedding shoes that the crazy thought passed through my head: "Maybe Rachel would let me wear these in her wedding." I ordered them immediately, and when they arrived yesterday I got to laugh at myself as I realized how absurd it would be to wear these shoes to a wedding.

Unfortunately, after wearing them around the house for a good two hours, I am now deeply attached to them and can't bear the thought of sending them back. And that's why I'm telling all of this to you, dear readers: what do you think I should do? I understand that most of you would never wear these shoes - either you don't like statement shoes, or they're not appropriate for the office. Thankfully, though, I love statement shoes, and don't work in an office :) While I wouldn't wear these multiples times a week, they do go with a surprising amount of things in my closet. What do you think? Is $150 just too much to spend on a pair of crazy shoes? Should I be a responsible adult and send them back?

In My Shoes: Chinese Laundry Wedges

I bought these babies at the beginning of last summer and the beginning of my first management job in hopes that a wedge would still give me height, plus the added benefit of comfort. My bf at the time told me they looked like something an old lady would wear. I never did listen to his opinion when it came to shopping, haha.

The comfort ideal lasted for a whole five minutes before i had blisters ALL OVER my toes. Fortunately, once the leather became a bit more worn in the pain stopped, but their cuteness lived on.

How I wore them...

In My Shoes: Aldo "Urquiza" Loafer

It's been a while since I've done one of these, but my collection grows every month so I thought I would continue with this feature!

Ah, Aldo. You never steer me astray.
I bought these last winter and it was love at first step. Not only did they fit perfectly into my then-corporate wardrobe, they are incredibly comfortable.
I'm so glad I purchased them when I did since I see this trend popping up again everywhere for the fall!
You can purchase a similar style here in black.

Shoe lust: Jeffrey Campbell

I have a bit of an obsession with Jeffrey Campbell's shoes. Shoes are such an important wardrobe piece, and they're one that I like to have fun with! I'm always drawn to sculptural shoes that look like works of art. (Even if I can't afford them!) Currently I only have one pair of Jeffrey Campbell's, but I'm lusting after several more. If only I had an extra thousand dollars I could spend on a few pairs of his shoes! Here are some of my faves:

(My absolute favorite!)

I'm curious: How do you feel about shoes - do you want them to be eye-catching, or do you just want them to do their job and keep you comfortable? And most importantly - would you wear any of these?!

I thought I'd posted this.... I really did...

Between studying for my exam last Saturday and welcoming the boy back from Europe, I have been super busy these last few days, so pardon my absence!
Yesterday was St. Anthony's day here in Ottawa, the official start to Italian Week in Little Italy. It's an event I go to every year, and absolutely love. It starts with an outdoor mass and then a huge parade down Preston Street. Basically every Italian in the city attends and dresses up. It's practically a fashion show, and I love it. While I didn't get a shot of my own outfit (shame on me!) I did manage to snap a few shots of some really pretty looks, including a few of the individuals participating in the precession in their period costumes.

Despite being incredibly tired after a long day out in the sun, I had the sudden urge to reorganize my closet last night. I feel like I can finally see everything in there, which is super exciting! I did, however, take off the door, and while I do enjoy being able to see my handiwork right now, I'm sure that will eventually bother me. If anyone has any suggestions on how to creatively solve this problem, I'm open to suggestions! My room has a black & white theme with a slightly vintage (based on my refurbished furniture and empty picture frame jewelry holders) feeling to it.

Decisions, Decisions...

I would just like to say how very proud of myself I am.
It's 1/3 of the way through the month, and I haven't bought ANYTHING with my clothing budget yet! I guess studying has left me a bit distracted though.
My celebration will be short lived as I plan to reward myself with something pretty after my exam tomorrow morning.

Here are two pairs of shoes that I'm SERIOUSLY debating over... I know flat sandals would be a lot more practical, but these just seem like a lot more fun!

First is the "Dyle"... I love the green and white together. SO fresh and summery!

And second we have the "Krugh." (Who names these things?! I feel like they should be hair-metal bands from the 80s and not pretty platforms!)
The color is a lot more neutral, but it's the adorable crochet detail that has me absoluetly smitten...

Which do you prefer?
