The 9-5 Patriot

Red, white, and blue are a patriotic combination that can come off as too casual or juvenile for the work day. One way that I ensure this doesn't happen is by adding another neutral into the mix. For this ensemble, I grounded the colors of July 4 with black through a statement necklace, wide belt, and classic pumps.

Pantone on Tone

In revisiting my own archives, I stumbled upon this post where I discussed "tone on tone" via Diane Von Furstenberg's pre-fall 2011 lookbook and introduced the idea of using Pantone color charts to find which colors to wear to achieve the look. Now, almost two years later, I'm inspired all over again! Whether it's shades of pink, purple, red, or blue, it's safe to say that this escalation of color blocking is a sure fire way to ring in spring! Do yourself a favor and pile on pastels, neons, and brights in one color family from your ears to your toes.

Seasonally Affected

Four days of rain.
The past four days have included flat hair, carrying an umbrella and therefore foregoing my travel mug of coffee, traversing puddles in heels, and staying inside the office during lunch. The diagnosis of Seasonal Affective Disorder is certainly real and I am certainly meeting criteria this week.

Prabally Awesome

The launch of Prabal Gurung for Target blew my mind. While I have kept two of my five ordered online pieces (due to fit rather than style), I need more! Such as this, this, this, and this. I wore this adorably feminine and versatile skirt for Valentine's Day where Dan my man took me out for a lovely meal at an enoteca followed up with a stay at what is now my favorite hotel - Hotel Allegro (where these pictures were snapped).
P.S. We decided to stage our "save the dates" here after realizing that the decor would perfectly display our vintage, glam, colorful, and eclectic personalities. Awesome, right?
