Claudia and Stacey

I don't have anything to say about this outfit other than it was cute, functional, and super comfy. (Hello, stretchy waistband...)

Now moving on to much more interesting things...I found this awesome website yesterday called What Claudia Wore, based on the style of Claudia Kishi from The Babysitters Club books. I don't know about you guys, but I was obsessed with those books as a kid. (Especially since one of the characters was named Stacey. I even tried writing hearts over all my "i"s just like her, until I realized that it took way to long to write anything that way.) Some of my favorite parts of those books were the descriptions of Claudia's wacky outfits. (I also loved hearing about her secret stashes of junk food.) Were any of you into those books?

Green and black

When it gets to be as hot as it has been in Portland the past few days, I don't even want to wear clothes anymore. I just want to move to a nudist colony. But since that would not be an acceptable lifestyle in the eyes of Josh, my family, and, well, pretty much everyone I know, I have to stick with just wearing really lightweight clothes, like this outfit. But since this is a style blog and I have to keep it interesting somehow, I slapped on this outrageous hat. One nice thing about having this blog is that it keeps me creative - if I were left to wear my outfits in anonymity, I would probably just wear the same dress for five days straight during the summer.

Gray and green

Sometimes my family thinks I'm funny for reasons I don't understand. Like yesterday when my aunt saw this outfit, she laughed and said, "Only you would wear a gray top with a bright green patterned skirt." And I could not figure out why that was so odd - I mean, I thought a gray top was a tame, nearly dull choice. But apparently to some people, it's an out-of-the-box choice, probably because it doesn't match the skirt - people in my family like for things to match.

I wasn't a huge fan of this outfit, but it was okay considering I was in a hurry when assembling it. I do think I should have swapped the beige boots for black shoes, though. So to make this post more interesting, here's an awesome photo of a bee that I took in my parents' garden this past weekend...
