Rain, Rain Go Away

Yesterday was so busy. All morning long we went door to door with Circle K handing out flyers for our annual city-wide food drive. Of course it was incredibly beautiful all week long, and then the day we plan to go do charity work its gray, cold and rainy. Thanks weather. Either way though, it was fun and I managed to get some good exercise in. After that it was an afernoon full of group meetings and catching up on homework. Yay for weekends.

I am also unsure of why everything was underlined all of a sudden.

Worn Tues, Mar. 9th:

vest - H&M (2008)
tee - F21 (2009)
earrings - Flea Market (2008)
"pearls" - Ardene (2006)
jeans - Parasuco for Smart Set (2008)
flats - Payless (2007)

I bought these earrings from a crazy gypsy woman at the Pickering Flea Market. Her booth is SO sparkly you can see it from waaay down the crowded hallway, and every time I go she tells me she's closing down and everything has to go. I know its her selling tool or whatever, but I definitely use it to (what i *think* is at least) my advantage. I ended up getting two pairs for 10$, and considering the fake bling they have going on, I thought that was a pretty sweet deal.
I should probably pay them another visit before I graduate in June and move back to Ottawa! 4 hours is kind of far to travel for cheap jewelry lol.

Danger Girls love Leather Jackets

*Title courtesy of Sir Elton John

I feel like I have been completely spoiled with all the nice weather we've been having. Today it was ACTUALLY warm enough to go out in a blazer with a little hidden cardi underneath (that post will come eventually!). But anyways, that's saying a lot. I'm the individual who brings a sweater when it's 30 degrees** outside, so we're talking nice.

Worn Mon, Mar 8th:
jacket - Danier (Thrifted 2008)
button up - yde (2009)
long sleeved tee - F21 (2009)
belt - Costa Blanca (2009)
jeans - Guess (2007)
flats - Aldo (2009)

This outfit actually came about because I'm out of clean clothes. A lot of my outfits this week are kind of a random jumble. But anyhoo, I thrifted this jacket way back in the fall of 2008 and had NEVER worn it. So while it's kind of an off combination, I thought it went enough to wear the jacket.

And it actually worked out quite well that I was in jeans and flats considering this is what transpired at Circle K that day:
Good Times.

**EDIT: Celsius! I should probably start specifying, eh? (That's the Canadian in me coming out!) So 10 is around 50 and 30 would be close to 86 Fahrenheit.

Success!!

This has been an incredibly wonderful weekend! Let me just take a few seconds to be proudly Canadian and congratulate our boys! They had us scared for a second there, but following in the footsteps of our super-talented ladies, we won the Gold :) GO CANADA GO!
And to follow up with more good news, our fundraiser last night was a great success (considering all the competition!). Food was delicious, dancing was fun, and I even had the chance to meet our new district governor for Circle K. Good Times.

Worn: Sat, Feb. 27th:
Where: running around town like a mad woman

cardigan - the Wal (2009)
tee - Smart Set (2008)
skinnies - F21 (2009)
belt - Value Village (2010)
boots - GMa's (mine since 2009)

There's a milo kitten in my window... he was trying to hide. For some reason he's terrified of the camera flash... that's my special boy!
Anyhoo, i LOVE this sweater. Every time I wear it I can't help but think of Archie Andrews or Danny Zucko at the end of grease... the only thing that would make it more perfect is if it were an "R" for Riverdale or Rydell :)

And what I wore that night:
Where: Cocktails for a Cause

dress - Smart Set (2009)
hair poof - gift from sis (xmas 09)
tights - Sirens (2010)
heels - BCBG (2009)

And the lovely ladies who helped organize this event, Jess and McKensi!
Thanks to everyone who came out! Much Love!

Finally Winding Down...

This week has been CRAZY! So many midterms and assignments... And of course our Circle K event tonight! That's actually pretty exciting. We'll be able to see if our hard work has actually paid off... and I've put a LOT of work into this one! Even as we speak I'm taking a break from baking mini-cheesecakes for tonight.
So lets play a little bit of catch up while I have some downtime!

Worn Tues, Feb. 23rd:

knit top: Dynamite (2010)
skirt: Urban Behaviour (2009)
tights: Ardene, Sirens (2009)
boots: Thrifted @ Sympathy for the Rebel (2010)

L2R: Gift from J('09), Dynamite('07), Charlotte Russe ('09), ???

Worn Thurs, Feb. 25th:

bracelet/earrings: African Gifts from J (2009)
cropped knit: H&M (2009)
burnout tee: made by me (2008)
jeans: Silver (2006)
brogues: Spring (2010)

I'm really looking forward to getting all fancy tonight too! Should make for a pretty post in the near future!

As if January is almost over....

I feel like every second post I'm apologizing for not updating more often. Lets just skip this from now on, and all be comfortable with the fact that I have a short attention span and update when it tickles my fancy.... which is at least on a weekly basis. I'm cool with it. Hopefully none of you leave me!

Anyhoo, this week's been slightly nuts. Final exams, papers due, Circle K, books to read, skirts to sew, and a Haiti fundraiser to plan for. I'm exhausted just thinking of it all and everything else I need to accomplish before the end of the week.
You'll probably end up hearing a lot more about the fundraiser as well... it is definitely the project that I will be having the most fun with this semester.

So here's the week so far:

Worn Mon, Jan. 25th:
scarf - Suzy Shier
cardigan - Smart Set
sweater dress - Charlotte Russe
cowboy boots - thrifted @ Sympathy for the Rebel

It was actually a couple degrees out (around 40 Fahrenheit) so I thought I'd brave a skirt. And I couldn't wait to wear these boots after thrifting them for $15 at Sympathy for the Rebel.

Worn Tues, Jan. 26th:

chiffon blouse - Dynamite
chandelier necklace - Smart Set
high waisted jeans - Dynamite
mary janes - Spring

Very simple, very minimalistic, but I like it a lot actually. And I really didn't think I would like the high neck as I kinda have big boobies and it usually only makes me look bigger on top, but the black does a good job of disguising it.

Worn Wed, Jan. 27th:
argyle sweater - Dynamite
jeans - F21
boots - Franco Sarto
gold & jade ring - Nonna's (GMa!)
leaf necklace - random "jewelry lot" off ebay

Haha, also, did anyone see American Idol last night? I was convinced Katy and Avril were in competition to see who could be the most awkward and abrasive. Don't get me wrong.. love the music... but seriously ladies? How rude.
OH! And was that Daniel Franco (Project Runway Seasons 1 and 2) saying he looks like the spawn of Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle?? Odd.

And now I shall leave you with this deliciousness that I will be stuffing my face with later tonight:

stop the madness!

I've been awful, I know. This last week has been crazy ridiculous. If I wasn't finishing one of a million papers, I was running around like a crazy person getting things ready for our fundraiser. I love my Circle K crew! We did SUCH a good job for a first major event, and considering there were 4 other events Friday night on campus, we had an awesome turnout and raised nearly $500 for Friends of Honduran Children! I guess it helps that our town is so devoted to this cause!
And now a few random pictures....This is becoming my trademark pose in random pictures i think...

Out front of the theatre...

Most of our crew^ (Thats the boy in the back corner and the bestie sitting to my left!)

And after a hectic week, I went home to Ottawa for an exam, and came home less than 24 hours later to the tree you will see in the next few pictures totally void of all decorations. Damn you Milo.
And Now onto some outfits I guess!
Worn Wed, Dec. 2

Scarf - Great Aunt's
Tee - dynamite
belt - dynamite
skirt - Mavi (ages ago, altered by me)
tights - ardene
boots - Best Friend's GMa's hand-me-down

Yep thats right, those boots are ancient! But so super cute.... it true, everything old is new again.
Worn Tues, Dec. 1st

blazer - Ricki's
cowl neck sweater - BCBG
jeans - Parasuco for Smart Set
heels - BCBG Paris

And for next time.... I'll try to get better at this, I promise!
