Plans has a special meaning to me, Summer Skin in particular. I have a particular set of vivid memories linked to it and every time I listen I get shivers of nostalgia. It's early autumn, school's back and I'm sitting on a small beach, the sun shining bright and clear. The sky is a brilliant blue and Mt Fuji sticks out like a sore thumb on the horizon. We're meant to be kayaking but the wind out at sea is too strong. You couldn't tell from here, it is a gentle breeze that plays with our hair and tickles our bare toes. Since we've made the effort of coming all the way, our chaperone allows us to spend the day bathing in the sun and sea, soaking up the last ebbs of summer. After lunch I fall asleep side by side with a good friend. With an ear bud each, the sweet songs of Death Cab for Cutie add a touch of honey to an already perfect day.
My month of travel has expired and I'm back home in Europe where the water is cold but the bread is crusty. I've got a massive backlog of photos, many of which are summery and will soon by irrelevant, so prepare yourselves for a torrent of posts (no promises though). I thought I'd start with the most summery lot, I love the print of this swimsuit, and the ruffles, ruffles are nice. In fact, this swimsuit is so nice that I fought off my body issues to bring you this post (self-pity blah blah).
Now to get a crack on the massive pileup of blog posts I've got to read. I've been able to read a few while I was gone but haven't commented. So tell me lovely readers, what have you been up to this summer?
