Paris: a bankruptcy court has reduced Christian Lacroix couture to a licensing operation. Efforts to find a potential buyer for Lacroix couture proved unsuccessful following reports that there was not enough evidence of financial plans for a re launch.
Monika Soszynska, an employee in Lacroix couture told The Times “It’s surreal; we can’t believe that it’s stopping, it’s not possible”.
The company will lose one hundred employees and will be left with a meagre eleven whose responsibility will be the management of Lacroix’s other products (wedding dresses, perfumes).
Seemingly nobody is untouchable in these difficult economic times.
