The other weekend, my friend Hannah (of Narcissist fame), went thrifting. We were planning to hit up all these quaint stores but in reality we really only made it to The Salvation Army (which is slightly overpriced and picked over)and spent at least an hour there, rummaging through the racks and trying on everything.
Because I don't have a pair of shorts, I snatched a pair of Ralph Lauren's up. There is a reason I don't have shorts, people! THEY LOOK TERRIBLE ON MY BODY! I have HUGE thighs, why would I want to accentuate them by encasing them in skin-baring fabric? They look fine in this photopgraph as I really manipulated it, but as Hannah can attest, with a sad face, they were NOT good.
The top was good though. Silk and BEBE and only $9. I paired it with a sweet skirt ($8) and realized why I love skirts so much more.
Meanwhile, Hannah tried on a skirt that made her look like she lost weight on Jenny Craig. If only JC could provide killer abs like that!
Sometimes I wish I had the panache to wear a horrid thing like this and make it look cool. It just ain't me!
Later we hit up another store which I always loved for its "Nothing over $20" unspoken rule but was dismayed to see the prices had all gone up, even though the quality hadn't. I still scored a tangerine pencil skirt though that matches my coach bag perfectly. We also got cool glasses for $6! Hannah couldn't really tell in the store what they looked like, hence our self-portrait taken in a back alley.
Love the colours on this dress!
